If there is one tradition I’m determined to keep alive in my home, it’s eating dinner together at the table.
Growing up, that was the rule. The only exception was when someone was sick and got to eat on the couch. As a kid, I thought table dinners felt a bit too formal, but looking back, I appreciate them so much more now.
Plus, sitting at the table is just plain practical. Eating in front of the TV usually means dodging our overly curious cats and risking messy food spills on the couch—neither of which I enjoy!
Most importantly, the table is where real connection happens. In a world dominated by streaming platforms and endless screen time, sitting down together gives us a chance to practice the art of conversation.
What is a family tradition that you would like to continue?
