All Treat, No Trick
I love Halloween—but I hate anything scary.
Yes, the irony is definitely not lost on me! I am all about cutesy Halloween. Is there even such a thing, or am I the only one?
Being from Australia, it’s taken a while for Halloween to really take off here. But now, you can actually find fun Halloween decorations in stores, and there’s even a Halloween festival at The Rocks!
For me, the absolute best parts of Halloween are getting dressed up, indulging in lollies and chocolate, and enjoying the lighter spring evenings now that daylight saving has kicked in. In our old neighbourhood, the streets would turn into one massive block party, complete with DJs playing!
I know being spooked is supposed to be the main point, but I like what I like. Maybe Halloween is just a lovely excuse to gather, celebrate, and do something festive before December officially rolls around.
To me, Halloween is all about lighthearted fun—and maybe that’s why I love it so much, strictly minus the scary stuff!
How are you celebrating Halloween this year? I’d love to hear what fun, lighthearted traditions you and your family have!
